“the View” starts its 15th season on Tuesday, and love will be the Hot Topic.
ABC says that Joy Behar and Sherri Shepherd will discuss their separate weddings this summer. Whoopi Goldberg, Barbara Walters and Elisabeth Hasselbeck will discuss how they spent their summer. maybe love will be their Hot Topic, too. the ABC chatfest, which airs at 11 a.m. weekdays on WFTV-Channel 9, also will unveil a new set, described by ABC as “state of the art.”
Today, ABC repeats the show with Lady Gaga as guest host and musical performer (she sings “You and I” and accompanies herself on piano). the other guests are Dana Delany of ABC’s “Body of Proof” and author Danielle Steel.
“the View” welcomes Dick Cheney and his wife, Lynne, on Sept. 13. He is promoting his memoir, “In My Time,” which has made headlines for angering former colleagues.
Republican presidential candidate Jon Huntsman and his wife, Mary Kaye, will be guests Oct. 6.

Tuesday: New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg and “Top Chef” alumna Carla Hall of “the Chew,” ABC’s new daytime show.
Wednesday: Kim, Kourtney and Khloe Kardashian; and Marcy Borders, known as the “Dust Lady” after the Sept. 11 attacks.
Thursday: Oscar winner Helen Mirren discusses “the Debt,” her new thriller. Dance partners Hope Solo and Maksim Chmerkovskiy discuss the new season of “Dancing With the Stars,” which begins Sept. 19. the “V-Mail: ask ‘the View’ … Lawyers” segment features Sunny Hostin and Judge Jeanine Pirro. could there be a Casey Anthony question?
Friday: the program offers its Sept. 11 tribute, featuring former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani; Lauren Manning, author of “Unmeasured Strength”; and children of victims of Sept. 11. Shepherd visits Ground zero and the one World Trade Center site.
