Becoming a Powerful Reiki Master

Becoming a Powerful Reiki Master

1317497769 22 Becoming a Powerful Reiki Master

Reiki is usually the shortened version of various styles of Usui Reiki Ryoho. Examples of other uses are 5239 Reiki an asteroid named after the astrometor Reiki Kushida. (Wikipedia encyclopedia)

Usui Reiki Ryoho is neither a religion nor a belief system. however, it parallels religion in the proven/unproven debate. the energy flowing in Reiki can be sensed in many ways, but cannot be proved nor disproved. when it comes to energy E=mc is accepted, but universal energy remains in the gray area. as with religions, this leaves people in the middle saying everything comes from human beings and if you think differently show me proof. many canards have been created in an attempt to explain what cannot be proven.

The first law of thermodynamics states that energy can be neither created nor destroyed; it can only be changed from one form to another. the spiritual practice Mikao Usui founded uses a gentle form of universal energy that if not altered by human actions or another energy attaching to it, is powerful.

Synergism happens when Reiki is added to other practices; because Reiki is a form of universal energy how can any addition make it greater. a person can try to equate Reiki to manmade forms of energy and grade its power on a scientific scale. or, they can simply look at a child as he or she gazes at their four-legged companion bouncing back from an injury and see unproven energy flowing from that child’s heart. Reiki is the vibrations of love and harmony from the universe.

I have studied various forms of Usui Reiki Ryoho and diligently listened and practiced what three of my Reiki Shihans (teachers) shared with me. Two of those teachers have only two teachers between themselves and Mikao Usui, and all have done research in places I have not been. I have also had other teachers of styles of Usui Reiki Ryoho from around the world share things with me. therefore, I am not basing what I say on just my own daily practice.

The first thing most Shihans (teachers) of all styles of Usui Reiki Ryoho tell students is, Trust in Reiki. (Doi, Inamoto, 2002) the unique form of energy, which flows with Reiki, balances mind, body, and spirit in ways that can be called powerful, but most Reiki teachers and practitioners simply look at it as wonderful for the life that is experiencing the healing. Reiki is not a complicated practice, just one that requires time, study, practice, and understanding.

Each of us is born with the right to be healthy and live with happiness, and the path of Reiki helps us to fulfill that right.– Roberta R. Barnes 2000 I wrote these words following the first styles of Usui Reiki Ryoho I studied. I since have been blessed to have been lucky enough to have shared with me many techniques and much factual history, but my view has not changed.

Even though Hippocrates was not referring to Reiki he described its power as he said, the physician cures, but nature heals. Surgeons and other medical professionals remove the immediate danger, and then the healing begins. it is natural power that provides what is needed for the inner healer to awaken and heal. Reiki is natural power that often aids in healing the mind and body far beyond and much faster then anyone, medical or other wise, ever expected. If searching for factual documentation of healings directly from Reiki, you may not find any. Reiki teachers and practitioners focus on a life form healing in the way that is best for that life form at that junction in time, and have no need for receiving praise. the motto of Komyo Reiki Kai is, Go placidly in the midst of praise or blame. the fee Reiki practitioners and teachers accept is for his or her time spent with a client or student, and overhead.

Life force energy usually does not require proof because it is something each of us experiences. For centuries different people have used his or her life force energy to help another heal, leaving themselves sometimes exhausted. the supply of universal energy is endless and any Reiki practitioner’s life force energy that flows with Reiki is replenished as powerful universal energy flows through that practitioner.

Becoming powerful presents different images to different people. all human languages are complex, and use varying symbols such as characters, kanji, dots, hand movements, etc. in Reiki we see many symbols being introduced to point a student to various energies within the unique form of universal energy. the creation of Reiki symbols was a very natural evolution to represent parts of an unproven energy. Colors are sometimes used as symbols; the meaning of color as a symbol is determined by each person’s own reality. Universal energy is received by a person’s receptors open to receiving, and interrupted by those elements that formed that person’s reality. Symbols, colors, chakras, and such are sometimes used to help students understand the flow of energy, as opposed to trying to make universal energy more powerful. Reiki is a path towards peace, tranquility, and joy; no worry is given if symbols are not drawn exactly as shown and symbols are transcended at the time that is best for each individual.

When I think of the path Usui Reiki Ryoho is traveling in various communities in this century I think of Dr. H.C.F. Meyer. Matthew Wood (1997) tells how in the 1880s Dr. Meyer learned how to make from the Native Americans a preparation using Echinacea Angustifolia he called a cure-all. Dr. Meyer repeatedly allowed himself to be bitten by rattlesnakes to demonstrate its healing power. His cure-all was the original snake oil. Other people made their own preparations either not knowing his formula or trying to improve it. Consequently, this gave birth to the term snake oil becoming equated to the term quackery.

As far as becoming powerful, humankind has been blessed to have many powerful people throughout history. Think for a moment about a woman who might be described as living in a dark silent world. Through the teachings of another she was able to touch many lives in a positive way. she became a Powerful American writer that developed her skills with discipline, determination, and time. she, Helen Keller (1880-1968), wrote, True happiness is not attained through self-gratification, but through fidelity to a worthy purpose. the historical facts surrounding powerful people show their actions are what placed him or her in a position of power.

There were only four years between when Mikao Usui founded his system Reiki Ryoho and his death, but in that short time he passed on a wondrous gift. he was a quiet man and only raised three of his 2,000 students to the level where they could open others to the form of universal energy to which he had connected. (Rivard, Doi, Inamoto, 1997-2003) Shouoh Matsui in 1928 wrote, Mikao Usui did not like to announce it. (Rivard, 2003, translation M. Iwasaki) Mikao Usui’s power is symbolized by on a scale of one being the best, he rated himself a two to encourage his students to do their best. Throughout history, those that stand out from the crowd do so because their actions set him or her apart from others.

Reiki Master represents different levels in different styles of Usui Reiki Ryoho. many men and women that I know, although having one or more certificates stating Reiki Master prefer to call themselves Reiki Shihan, Reiki Teacher, or simply say I have reached the fourth or higher level in one of more styles of Usui Reiki Ryoho.

One of the synonyms for Master is teacher, but others such as ruling and commanding are misleading when it comes to universal energy. Even if a person believes that all the forms of universal energy are within each person it is still misleading. If each of us could switch on power and be in total command of our own body, we could control the degeneration and regeneration of all our cells.

Mikao Usui’s first awakening was intellectual and following his second awakening, his connection to universal energy, he said the system he founded was the key to health and happiness. What could be more powerful then having your pathway opened to a form of universal energy that when used in a spiritual practice can lead to health and happiness? the determination and discipline some people use in what is accessible to him or her does seem to take them out of the position of skipper and make him or her the Master of their own fate.

Not all energies are positive even though they may feel powerful; there are supposititious creations in many practices. when deciding to have your pathway opened to the form of universal energy called Reiki it is good to review the teacher’s certificate(s). any Reiki teacher will have a lineage going back to Mikao Usui and will be happy to explain if what he or she practices has been altered in any way.

Would it not be a beautiful world if instead of each person trying to be the most powerful of anything, each person tried to be in balance and allow harmony to emanate from him or her? can you imagine a world filled with balance and harmony, where the sound of bombs or planes crashing into towers was unknown? as unrealistic as it might sound today, would it not be a wonderful gift to pass onto our children and grandchildren? If each person’s goal is to live in balance and be surrounded by harmony instead of seeking power, then why cannot that happen? If each segment is in harmony then the whole is at peace.

Any style honoring the traditions of Usui Reiki Ryoho has the goal of bringing a state of maximum balance and a bright future. Hiroshi Doi said of Reiki, it is to merge with vibrations of the universal rhythm. Take note! Act now and save time in your graduate job hunt

Take note! Act now and save time in your graduate job hunt

1316635460 78 Take note! Act now and save time in your graduate job hunt

The summer holidays are coming to an end, the leaves are already falling… but before term starts back at university, there’s one simple step you can take that’ll power up your graduate job hunt and help you present yourself in the best possible light when applying for grad schemes or next year’s summer internships.

Look back over your summer and pick out the key experiences that you’ll be able to use to market yourself to graduate recruiters – then record them. if you do this in the right way, you’ll give yourself a major head start on future job and work experience applications.

The vast majority of graduate job interviews are competency-based – that is, graduate recruiters ask a series of questions designed to find out whether candidates have certain competencies, such as teamworking, communication skills, negotiation, leadership, commercial awareness and so on. you can prepare for these questions in advance by thinking of examples of times when you’ve demonstrated particular competencies. It’s a lot easier to do this if you’ve already recorded relevant experiences in a readily accessible format.

Use the STAR model to record your work experience

Any work experience – whether from a casual job, work shadowing or formal internship –should provide you with examples of the skills recruiters are looking for. However, it’s not just about what you did – it’s about how you tell recruiters you did it. You’ll need to analyse what you did in the right way in order to convince a recruiter to give you a job. you can set about this by assessing how effective you were and thinking about what you learned from the outcome of your actions.

The STAR model is useful for this: think about the Situation you faced and the Task you had to complete, the Actions you took, and the Results you achieved. if you use the STAR method to help you structure and record your work experience, your information will be in a format that’s ready to use.

Examples of your competencies could also be drawn from experiences you had while travelling or doing voluntary work. Did you have to find a way round an unexpected problem while you were abroad? When you were volunteering for a local charity, did you need to take steps to integrate into the team and work well with other volunteers?

Employers love hard facts, so if you can quantify the impact of your actions, so much the better. for example, if you were involved in organising and marketing an event over the summer, did you increase the number of people attending compared to previous occasions? What did you learn from the success or shortcomings of your approach?

Later on in your graduate job search, you may also come across strengths-based interviews. These are really a fresh spin on the competency approach and focus on what you enjoyed doing rather than working through a checklist of competencies. so it’s well worth your while to give some time to thinking about what you found most satisfying.

Job interview styles to bear in mind

It’s also highly likely that you’ll be asked motivational questions, as recruiters want to find out what drives you, and looking back over the highlights of your work experience will help with these. Did you enjoy being part of a team? Were there specific challenges that you overcame? Record these moments now, and they’ll be ready and waiting for when you need to recall them.

Supporting the Teenage Transition from Childhood to Adulthood

Supporting the Teenage Transition from Childhood to Adulthood

The fact that teens go through a transition period is not at issue. we see it in our homes, on TV, at the mall. Just about everywhere we go, there are those teens, doing their very obvious transition thing For many adults, this period is uncomfortable to witness. we may find it frightening, sad, or offensive. some of us have the luxury of ignoring it, as we have no teens in our lives. But some of us have no choice; we are surrounded by Teen Spirit Often we feel powerless to help; we’re busy, they’re scary, we feel incompetent, they refuse our offers. The truth is they DO need our help; how else are they to learn how to become happy and productive adults?

I’ve been playing with the Caterpillar-into-Butterfly analogy lately. The caterpillar/teen goes along, happily munching leaves, when nature calls for a change. The caterpillar/teen enters its own little world and is set apart from society. This period is a mystery to biologists but within this structure (the cocoon) nature is able to transform the fuzzy, prickly caterpillar/teen into a gorgeous butterfly/adult.

It’s a cute comparison, right? Notice, however that something doesn’t match up: where is the analogous cocoon when we’re talking about teens? Imagine a butterfly being formed outside the cocoon. It couldn’t happen. What safe structure is available for their delicate and dramatic transformation? If you take time to observe teens you notice that they are most passionate about their lives when they belong to a system. For some it’s a strong family system, for others it’s school or a sports team or a club or church group. Others may find their purpose and passion through the responsibilities of holding down a job. unfortunately, when left to their own devices, and having few tools to cope with impending adulthood, teens will create their own structure to give them a sense of safety. Sadly, for some, a gang or drugs or having babies provides the structure they lack anywhere else.

How can parents create structure for their kids?

1.a strong sense of family is crucial. It doesn’t matter what the family looks like as long as there is a strong sense of unity and common purpose.

2.All children need to feel safe. For a child this means that their parents are dependable, trustworthy and consistent in their behavior. It means that, when making decisions that affect their children, parents take into account their kid’s particular physical, mental, emotional, spiritual and psychological needs and limitations as well as their strengths. It means that the parents get to be parents, even when it’s inconvenient or tiring or frightening and the kids get to be kids, even when it’s boring or unfair or restrictive.

3.to learn respect and compassion and kindness, kids need to see these demonstrated DAILY within their home. love and acceptance should never (NEVER) be withheld. we may disapprove or despair of our child’s behavior (and administer an appropriate consequence or arrange for an intervention such as coaching or counseling) AND we still offer words of love and acceptance, for this is when our children probably need it the most.

Just as the caterpillar needs a structure to fulfill its destiny and complete its natural, even divine, transformation, so too a teen MUST have structure in order to fulfill his/her sacred life purpose. If a parent or other adult does not provide such structure during adolescence it can by pieced together by the wounded and healing adult later in life. Regardless, structure is imperative.
